A self-taught developer with an incredible passion for the craft. Writing my first line of code at 12, I fell in love right away. Something as simple as HTML and CSS created a lifelong love that has stuck with me through it all.
To me, code has always been the paint in which I build something beautiful. The process of building a tool from the ground up is the most fun to me. There is something truly satisfying about a well laid out code solution, a well formed method, or clean architecture. Even something as simple as a properly commented bit of code brings me joy.
My learning style has always been build it, then make it better. I find myself crawling through so many documents to learn a new bit of technology or methodology that I can then apply in practice. To me, it is not enough to understand it in reading, but to understand it in practice when applicable.

Do you have other interests outside of development?
Yes of course! While I love to code, and enjoy it both as a hobby and a career, I enjoy a lot of other things outside of that. I love cars, specifically, older Japanese cars! I own a 1989 Nissan Silvia, SR20NA-T (Naturally aspirated converted to Turbo) in it, lowered on airbags. I have two others as well, and just enjoy working on them. There is something so pleasant about doing body work, electrical work, or even just doing upgrades on the cars. I love that each person has a unique take on it when they love it. I also have a Subaru BRZ that I put a turbo on by myself, and I loved the fresh challenge.
I also am a big gamer, probably to no surprise. I own a plethora of old school consoles, from ones I grew up with, to ones I wish I could have had. Looking directly at the Dreamcast! I love modding these old consoles as well, especially as the disc and cartridges age and degrade, and become harder to find with time, having a way to play backups of these classics is amazing. I find it important for me personally to preserve this history in some way shape or form.
I also really enjoy art as well! I love traditional and digital mediums. I grew up drawing and creating, with a love for Anime, Manga, and even comics (ex: Spawn, Spiderman, Wolverine). When I was younger, I took inspiration from these. For digital art, my father introduced me to programs like Macromedia Fireworks (I might be old) – which ended up being purchased by Adobe. The Macromedia Dreamweaver was also where I wrote some of my first lines of code! I also got to explore it more having spent a lot of time as a graphic designer in high school working in our practical print shop, and for a few years after working at a expo show print shop.
